i sell esso fuel, cant use any other even if i wanted to.
But for argument's sake, esso fuel makes the engine runs smoother than other brands (you know....the yellow and red brand).

You never specified which is your preferred brand.richie wrote:Which petrol brand do you prefer ?
As for me, will let you know next year once I have finished compiling data on all brands (although in an uncontrolled environment). The one that has the best statistical performance will be the brand of my choice. Of course, it needs to be weighed against the power that each fuel gives (that one is based on feel and is more arbitrary).

Me too. I tried Shell Ron95. Not feeling good as well. I looked at Engine spec., the 1.6L fiesta engine compression is high at 11:1. Does that mean we need higher grade of fuel?

Yes use esso hehe. Each RM1 fuel = 1 point, accumulate 1000 points you get RM15 free. Points wont expire unlike bonuslink as long as you swipe the card in a one year period.

Re: Petrol Brand for Fofi
1-Go to any esso/mobil station.
2-Ask for SMILES card application form.
3-Fill in your details.
4-????
5-profit
You still need to wait 4 weeks for the forms to process, in which you can still collect those points. You just cant redeem them just yet.
For lost/faulty cards you can transfer any available points to new card but 4 weeks processing still apply.
Have fun

Currently aiming to accumulate 2k first before redeeming for RM30 worth of petrol.
I heard Petronas' mesra card points can also be accumulated from non-fuel purchases.

I'm not really sure what are the differences but so far I use Shell RON95.
Btw, just curious but what happens if you mix the petrols?

Re: Petrol Brand for Fofi
I also use Esso and their smiles card. Not only can points be use to redeem petrol, one can also redeem houehold stuff like detergent powder and even MILO. For me more practical then bonuslink where one have to wait for enough points to redeem items which you deem worth it but sometimes the point expire as we forget about it...syumul wrote:spymonkey wrote:syumul wrote:use caltex no reward point..it is time to change to esso..

Nothing...simple as that. You can even mix with diesel (no more than 30% total) and still the engine runs, just for argument sake..please dont do that
The only thing that is a big no-no is to mix different engine oil brand/grade.

Re: Petrol Brand for Fofi
yup, petronas can redeem petrol as well. but their point system is not like esso. 1k point = rm15. for petronas is 1.3k point = rm10. if i not mistaken la. the point could be less or higher. but confirm esso is cheaper comparing the point systemDias wrote:Currently aiming to accumulate 2k first before redeeming for RM30 worth of petrol.
