Do you guys tend to wait a while before you all turn the key from “start” and to cranking the engine to run? (not sure you guys understand or not.)
Some just turn without pausing at the starting, straight away crank the car to start. Which some claim it is bad for your electronic board. I have no idea is that true or not, but I do want to find it out.

Personally, I will wait for a few seconds before I crank the engine. For fuel-injection engine, when you turn the key to the ON position, if u notice there will be a short "zztt" sound which means that the injector is getting to its position (or so I was told by lotsa friends - i oso not sure how true it is). I only crank the engine once I hear that sound and/or after the check engine light turns off (this one for other cars that I drive laa - for FoFi i will wait like 1-2 seconds). I believe this will prolong the wear and tear of the engine components.

Slot the key in, step on the brake, left hand on the gear-shift and turn ignition to start, all in one smooth motion.
Done that for all my cars and never faced any problems with the electronics.

i generally follow the book-manual.
on, wait the system checkup until the lights go off, start engine.
wait until RPM below 1k, then begin journey. <==sometime not waiting. haha

i usually wait more than 2second. i'll use the fuel consumption meter to judge. usually when we turn on the fuel consumption meter will be around 0.6. it will slowing drop to 0.0. that is when i'll crank my engine. i have no idea will it do any harm to our engine or car or notmadon76 wrote:Personally, I will wait for a few seconds before I crank the engine.
