Hi all, My name is joe from cheras area.
I intend to book my fiesta this week, tat's y im here to seek advice.
Any problem with the car? Or anything i should pay attention on this car?

As said in the title, I'm about to purchase the new car and it's down to Ford Fiesta sedan and the Mazda 2 sedan. I asked my friend who works in a Ford dealer for his honest advice on the Fiesta, and he says that in his honest opinion that the Fiesta does incur some problems and stuff, whereas the Mazda 2 is reliable as it is tried and tested. Can anyone enlighten me if the Ford Fiesta has any problems I should be wary of? Be it technical or other parts of the car, do let me know as I am going to place an order as soon as I get some knowledge on this. I do know that the Ford and Mazda are built on the same platform but the Ford seems to have the upperhand almost in every department, but I am also looking for a stress-free motoring experience and least problems.

you see, test drive is the ultimate answer for your questions. Some ppl might forget about those issues plagued with Fiesta once they have test driven it once or few times. So, it's really depends on what are you looking for since IMO, its a love-it or hate-it stuff. No new cars are 100% defect free and any other makes of car will have their own problems and annoyances.

You can always browse through the Issues section at http://www.fiestaclubmalaysia.com/f21-fiesta-issues and see what other owners had experienced, then see if you're OK to live with em.

From what i know, Mazda 2 quite spartan, so less electronic sensors and stuff will mean less potential troubles in the future. But if you really want a trouble-free motoring, then get a Vios. No surprises or anything but with good reliability, bunch of spare & after-market parts, SCs everywhere, most workshop uncles can fix Vios and bunch of Internet forums loaded with knowledge for you to check em out.

I won't shy from the the fact that some of the famous issues that plague Fiestas are the clutch oil leakage, weird gearbox behaviour and inconsistent after-sale services at certain SCs, along with minor annoyances.

Anyway, i've heard of Fiesta since 2010 from Europe and WRC. The minute Msia went and bringing it in, i've planned my finances for a year to get it, while people around me kept pestering me to get Vios, City, Forte and Preve... test drove them all... and now I'm having fun driving Fiesta (you'll love the acceleration and handling, bang for buck IMO) .

Thanks bro for ur explaination but dun say Vios got no problem man coz im driving a S Spec now and quite a no. problem tat's y i decide to change it. I think i will go ahead with FOFI as i got a good deal from my SA.

Well, i didn't exactly stated Vios has no problem, it's just that people i've met and in forum Vios have decent reliability over like, 5 to 7 years? Of cos, there will be lemon units here and there, so as other makes. Since Fiesta in Msia is around 2 years so yet to undergo the trial of time, but i have faith in the build quality .
