Not that I know of... you can still go exceed 80kmh with a gradual increase in speed la. Just don't over rev the car. As you know, the FoFi gearbox tend to mimmick the manual transmission. The harder and longer you step on the accelerator, the RPM will shoot up to red line. Try it. It's fun!

Anyway differ ppl different advice, some say new car much throttle kao-kao so remove all the steel stains at 1000km... I remains slow pace at first 1000km, believe or not my other cars are tip-top even more than 10 years

0-1000 = < 120km/h
> 1000 = <140km/hr
after 1st servis 10000km = full throttle...heee

Re: Is it true that I must keep below 80kmph in a new car?
personally for me i try to keep the rev below 2k and drive under 80km/h,
but from time to time i will jack up the car, potong a few people, go uo to 15km/h etc... as to make the ecu not fix to certain speed or way of driving. others people might have better views

Re: Is it true that I must keep below 80kmph in a new car?
he meant tip top as in running at 80% of what a new car should be. No major repairs. Usual wear and tear only.
I used to drive 15 year old iswara, with what i said above.
To stay on topic. It doesnt matter how fast you're driving, it about how you control your revs. Running at 80 km/h but rev is at 5000 rpm is bad too (i exaggerated i know). For the first 200-300km i normally keep engine rpm below 2.5k, ofc it's really hard to do with a new car. The urge to over-rev is too much....must resist.....

Re: Is it true that I must keep below 80kmph in a new car?
It all depends on the mentality adopted while driving. Being conscious of fuel consumption while driving makes it easier to not accelerate.
An easier way is to keep track of your FC (the manual calculation version and not the one displayed on your screen) and turn it into a game of trying to get your FC lower than your previous calculation. You can use Fuelly or just use Excel spreadsheets (which I prefer since I can create charts and graphs to show how well I'm doing).

i believe some say so because it is really not good to HARD accerelate the new car the deaccerelate it. so just dont send your fancy new car into street race
