Ford Fiesta XTR Sapphire Edition

For a car that’s doesn’t wear a national or Japanese badge, the Ford Fiesta has created quite some buzz in the market, thanks to cool design, good specs and attractive pricing. Cool as it is, there will always be some who want to stand out further, and some owners have already started customising their rides.

Auto ConneXion knows there’s a demand, and will launch a special “XTR Sapphire” edition of the Fiesta soon. According to sources, it should be made public in about two months from now, but we’ve caught it on cam already!

Pardon the image quality and the fact that we only have two pics (guards were nearby!), but we’ll walk you through what we saw. The XTR gets a full bodykit, which includes a front chin spoiler, side skirts and a rear bumper with diffuser. The latter is in grey.

Twin stripes run the length of the Fiesta – one grey, one white – on this blue car (we also saw a hot looking white example pass by, that’s the other colour offered). Not just that, but there’s a side decal that runs the outline of both rear doors. It’s also in grey/white and has the word “Sapphire” on it.

The cabin is dominated by blue as well (this pic is of a Thai showcar). The dashboard is in blue, matched with blue door cards and and blue/black seats. Sporty and unique, but not for everyone. Just as well, because not everyone will be able to get their hands on one, as we hear that they’re planning for “around 200 units” of the XTR, which makes it a limited edition.

Besides the visual changes in and out, we also hear that the XTR Sapphire will come with seven airbags, five more than the standard two. The rumoured RM6,000 premium over the top spec Fiesta 1.6 Sport sounds like a good deal too!

Ugh...the interior color theme is horrendous. And the gray stripe sticks out like a sore thumb.

I too prefer dual white stripes to the grey-white scheme. The blue interior just doesn't look good just like how the two tone blue grey interior of Chevrolet Cruze owing mainly to the material. However the purple soft touch interior of UK fiesta doesn't look that bad...

haha looks like the interior is pretty much the same except for the blue coloring.

makes me pretty scare because people start kopek-ing other people stuff already..later all the visor hilang kena kopek

I already plan to remove my "XTR" and replace with sticker version indeed of the emblem =)

On serious note, I'm glad the XTR does differ much from the "S". I mean look at new MyVi extreme. 1.3 then 1.5. They should launch with both version. It's a rip-off i tell you.

How much differ the XTR & S???

If compare Myvi 1.3 & 1.5 of coz differ la, such a small Myvi 1.3 already not bad, 1.5L the avanza engine sure blast those 1.6 satria neo adi

XTR = S + RM 8000.

About the MyVi, I mean the should make both available at launch. Lets say you like the new MyVi, you bought the 1.3L. All is fine and suddenly, 2-3 months later they launch the 1.5L version. Of course you'll want the 1.5 right?

no it's not +8000, it's +6000... btw i dont think it's still available as it's limited to 300 units nationwide

Potatoes, anyways I misread sfunglee. Difference between the S and XTR are:

- 7 airbags vs 2
- leather seats
- unique paint job
- stripes
- emblem

purely cosmetic. performance-wise it's the same.

to add on more, + new diffuser n exhaust (slight growl sound), bolted on skirt, different dashboard + interior colour.

all that for extra 6k? worth it la bro.

xtr owner here

something i don't really like the xtr..the exhaust diffuser is not really acting as a diffuser..just for show show only..the real diffuser is actually located at the bottom like our normal S model only..

Do u mean the muffler? If you're talking about the muffler, then yes, it is purely cosmetic without any functional purpose, the exhaust is still a single outlet located at the bottom.
