Noise rattling in the car Empty Noise rattling in the car

Post by yangman 2011-03-25, 5:32 pm

Whilst driving on uneven road surfaces, I hear rattling like loose item... not that loud but audible because of the quietness of the car, its obvious. Try driving at night with no radio. I suspect its from the left B pillar and left front passenger door. Its lest obvious when someone is sitting on the co-driver seat.

At times I think the dash and right front passenger door also shakes.

anyone else with such problems?

The salesman suggested i tape down the license plates... which i did, no difference. I cannot understand if the license plate rattles, why should it be heard inside the car?

SDAC said they can open up the panels at the B pillar but warned that after putting it back the sound maybe be worse...so i'm waiting first if the sounds gets too irritating... so now drive with radio on all the time

Rattles in the car can be very difficult to pin down.
Get the CSR to sit in the car with you and drive on roads which makes the rattle worse.
The CSR of course must make sure he's not hearing impaired.. lol!

Yalor I took the CSR on the drive and as usual the sound did not fully manifest itself, very shy,.

Thats why he said they can try to look for it but cannot guarantee anything.

So i have been trying stuffing paper and cellotape here and there to see if I can pin point it. So far, the rattling goes away if I drive with my right hand on steering wheel and my left hand pressing on the left side front passenger door panel.

But I cannot explain why it dissappears when someone is sitting at the left front seat.

damn, my car also have this noise that kills me. i suppect it is around the speedometer or the aircond blower area. this sound only come out when my car is low at rpm and trying to pick up.

worst of all, sometimes when i go to uneven road, the sound sometimes only come out. kind hard to identify where is that noise coming from.

well, now i turn on the radio louder and try to ignore the sounds. I have emailed a complain to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I suggest you do the same, not sure if anything can be done but let them know the plastic fit and build quality is not up to par.

Try check the compartment under the Aircon speed/temp controller. For my case, the noise is coming from there

Check door rubber, for my case it came out, just a tiny bit hence low noise. I shoved it in and no noise coming out again. Sometimes passenger seat belt lock that's been rattling, try to secure that.

Nonetheless a lot of things can cause rattling sound.

My car has some rattling at rear when going through uneven road? What could be the possibilities of noise source?

Possible due to Passenger side Pillar Plastics, you can try hold and see. Otherwise, installing soundproof material at side door panel seems good at insulating this kind of rattling noise at side door panel.

Noise rattling in the car Empty Most likely is the License Plate~

Hmm, I heard some undesireable rattling also before i changed my rear license plate. Frankly, the original plate HOLDER sucks! would suggest that you either dispose the plate holder, straight away poast it on the body, or change to another type of plate holder.

For pasting, you may refer to BUG's car. He pasted it very nicely ^^

Any also, any1 experience the rattling sounds like "Krukk..Krukk...Krukk" when turning the steering wheel (Most of the time when u make u-turn or parking) No

I also experience the same problem. We've discuss this issue previously under the steering wheel topic. Will try to replicate the sound when the car is due for service at SC

Noise rattling in the car Empty Re: Noise rattling in the car

Had my 10k service where I complained about the noise which i felt is coming from side B pillar and door panel. The CSR fella said, no one had similar complain so far. Claimed they will have a look at it.

Same warning: if they open up too often the plastic clips may break and rattling maybe worse!

After service, rattling still there. Sad I doubt if they actually did anything. Looking at this [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in the USA, they actively tried to solve the problem?

did anyone manage to solve the problem?
