Car Tinting
Which brand you guys went for? Just did mine at Tintauto Chan Sow Lin, Llumar HQ apparently but the workmanship is just so-so. Got a scratch on the tint which I realised only when I was driving and small little little dust. Oh well, gonna go back to them this weekend to fix it. I guess V-kool still has the best workmanship.

Re: Car Tinting
I did mine with Llumar also.. but at Puchong. Workmanship for mine was okay, didn't see any defects. But I heard the price I paid might have been a little too high... not sure if its standard price or I really overpaid. LOL....

Re: Car Tinting
Apparently that is the walk-in price. I got referred by my SA so got discount.
On a brighter side, you got a free floor mat with good workmanship! They screwed my rear window, had to tear it down. I was so worried they are gonna ruin my rear heater. And when I went home, saw a scratch on the tint film and dust on almost every window. Sigh... you get what you paid for.

Re: Car Tinting
The floor mat only worth few hundred... so yeah, Maybe I over paid like 300. But the good thing is they did everything for me on my car collection day, so I don't have to go back again to do the tinting. I guess I'm lucky the workmanship they did for me was not too bad.
But I think now the other forumers know RM2100 is not what you should pay for. LOL!
Hopefully you get your tinting fixed otherwise really heart pain.
But honestly, the tint I think is really good.. Hopefully it is lasting!

Re: Car Tinting
Yeah. Already fixed an appointment with them this Sat to fix it. Sigh..
It has 7 years warranty, should be able to last. I kinda hate the reflection for the front windscreen though.

Oh, hahaha. I love the reflection from outside, but yeah.. inside, the front a bit too reflective. At night is okay, but day time, takes time to get used to it. Haha. Now i try not to put anything much on the dashboard, else really distracting. =P

Re: Car Tinting
SA provided with so called "V-Kool" tint which does not feel like V-Kool at all. So I called up a contact and fix V-Kool Elite all round on top of the "V-Kool" that the SA fixed for me. Now, my ride is very2 dark indeed paired with ori V-Kool heat reduction. Unfortunately, now when driving the FoFi need to jaga2 a bit so that not to be stopped at a roadblock...

If you really do meet roadblock at night, turn on your inside light. Might help a bit!

Wouldn't it be suspicious then? I tried it once for roadblock.. failed.

I think it would not be suspicious as it is to show the police/jpj that you have got nothing to hide. Actually during roadblock, dark tint is the last thing that they would want to worry about. They are more concerned about speedtrap, HIDs and looking for people. If they decide to pull over people with real dark tint, then they might as well do it during the day and you wouldn't see sooo many real dark tinted cars around. It's all a matter of luck actually, I have friends who got into trouble after a few days tinting their cars 100% and I have some who has no issues about the dark tint for over 3-4 years... at the end of the day it all comes to how close your lady luck follows you.

I always wind down the windows and open the cabin lights as I approach the check-point.
Don't want to give them any excuse to do a number on me.

Hi Klimal,
What time did you post you're thread? There is no one at the moment that has the option to delete posts besides me. Maybe you can try posting again Klimal. Only posts that contains vulgar words and profanity will only be deleted then, other than that, I don't see the reason for it to be removed. Kindly do repost as maybe it could be a technical error.
Cheers

My early post stated that this is a general thread on tinting and the poster before me was actually out of topic.
This is NOT a promotion thread for freebies and number plates.

Re: Car Tinting
Talk about tinting, i was wondering did SDAC give any free tinting? Cause i get mine 3M for free. Then i ask around, seems like you have to pay for them now. Can anyone confirm this?

I heard about the free 3M tinting, only applicable for lower end. If you want the higher range have to pay the diff.

Re: Car Tinting
Went back to Tint Auto the other day to fix the scratch. The guy told me don't need to fix now cos even after 3 years they will still fix it for me. Not too bad their warranty.
