S'pore: 6,000 VW with DSG to be recalled

"Volkswagen, the third best selling brand on the island will be recalling almost 35 percent of its car population - accounting to 6,181 cars - from tomorrow for a gearbox issue that, if unresolved, might lead to power loss, reports The Straits Times. The cars are fitted with the popular but troubled seven-speed double-clutch gearbox - or more often known as DSG."

Powershift has nothing to do with DSG, other than both being dual clutch.

Each have their own problems, though it seems DSG's is more chronic and severe.

not that severe le... its just the constant juddering between 2-3 gear... it all depends with the driving style... if drive in S or AMT wouldn't feel anything...

That said, the DSG is really good actually, compared to Ford's Powershift. Shifts are smooth and responsive. It's a shame that it is so unreliable, totally turned me away from VW.
