My ride, so far I'm don't think my FC is too high as I stucked in traffic jam most of the time and was having quite a lot of spirited driving hehehe.

My best FC was 6.6L/100KM due to an average of 140KM/h on highway and hard driving up Jalan Tapah towards Cameron Highland.

is that ur fuelly account? i thought i saw moolastrikes name when i search for ford fiesta car in that fuelly website..that was not you??
btw my best FC was 5.8L/100km. lower than claimed 5.9L/100km..lol.but i doubt i would ever achieve it again as that time almost 90% highway drive constant 80-90km/h.. lol!

In Fuelly.com, cow stroller is my account name, moolastrikes is my ride's name. Hopefully this clear your doubt. Smile

When commuting to work and back, I drive smoothly since the traffic condition is bad and no point doing spirited driving.

But during late nights in weekend, then the road is my playground. Twisted Evil Less traffic and attention from cops.

Is it normal that the FC goes up while braking? During braking I noticed the numbers to go up above 30L/100KM. I know we don't use fuel to brake. Just wondering if that is normal. If it is, then no wonder average FC is very high.

Yeah it's normal..I'm guessing when you get that you're in first gear and accelerating harshly?trick of the game is try not to slam the accelerator too hard while its on first gear.try to keep it at <2000rpm and let it change gear ASAP.

9.3 to 10.5 usually... based on 100% city drive

that's normal for city drive.i get those figures too though it also depends on the roads you take or your driving habits..if you drive like michael schumacher in a fully loaded federal way(i dont think it deserves to be called a highway) dont expect any improvement on your fuel consumption figures.do try to go easy on the peddle and do try to allow the gears to shift the highest possible gear for the speed.

Generally Fiesta's FC is acceptable. At least for me, it's more important for me to have nice NVH when stuck in traffic jam, keeps me relax after a hard day's work. You'll notice when how noisy it is when u wind down your window... Then put a smile on my face when when I have a need for speed, especially cornering... along with nice audio system to go along and bunch of active safety systems looking out for you (hint: ESP). I'm not gonna compete FC with Vios, City or Almera.

+1

from what i can observe, fiesta's tuned towards highway driving rather than city driving as compared to other japanese makes (i.e. vios and etc)..which explains why i got 20.6km/L for highways and ave 10km/L for cities
