Re: Fuel Consumption
Mine is hitted '0' fuel left and it still works. I think inside the fuel tank just 1 litre only.

That is a good question. I did not pump full tank because the contest is going to end soon. Hahah!
I think 40 litre is required.

guys this is mine.
completely BHP Infiniti2x 95

funnily enough, the two dips in L/100km are when i pumped bhp 97
fofi used almost entirely for commuting to work or weekend drives.

Re: Fuel Consumption
my fofi clocked 420km-430km with one full tank using petronas primax 95 and approx the same mileage using shell 95. dunno whether it is good indicator or not...driving mode more likely 70% city and 30% hiway...

Re: Fuel Consumption
The term "full tank" is very misleading since no one drives their car till it runs out of gas (i.e. absolute zero fuel). You should be quoting distance over fuel consumed.
Your full tank could be only 30-35 litres and not 42 litres as per tank capacity.

Re: Fuel Consumption
Maintain RPM above 2k but below 3k if driving on clear roads (I don't look much at my km/h when driving and focus more on the RPM meter). At 3k RPM, you are close to 120 km/h anyway, which is already over the highway speed limit of 110 km/h.
Take advantage of the road gradient. Coast where possible. And when you know there's a particular location in front where you need to slow down (e.g. toll booth, junctions, traffic lights), let momentum carry you on for that last few meters (if your car is not too heavy, tires are well inflated and you built up your speed earlier, momentum can carry you as far as 1km on flat road with no downhill gradients). Just make sure that you are not obstructing any vehicle behind you.
Coasting is also possible in heavy traffic (using D) but the trick is to manage the distance of the vehicle in front. Let the front vehicle accelerate faster than you and once there is a good distance, just coast. Cars might take advantage of the gap but the key to getting good fuel efficiency in heavy traffic is to keep a cool head and be willing to give way. Being kiasu in heavy traffic means that a person will be accelerating hard and braking a lot. A sure-fire way to kill one's FC.
Driving in the early mornings mean that the car's interior is still cool. Don't switch on the air-con until you really need to. If you leave the office during the night and you don't mind sweating a bit, you can also leave the air-con switched off. Don't roll down the windows when driving fast since it creates drag (imagine cycling with an open parachute behind your back).

Re: Fuel Consumption
I keep hearing that fuel consumption will get better when the engine is broken in when the mileage goes over 8k or so.
Is there any truth in this?
I hope so, because at the moment, my Fiesta doesn't feel like a low FC small, light car.

I think its true. at my current 17,000 plus KM mileage, I can get 110km/h at around 2500 RPM.

Re: Fuel Consumption
Felix, I think I also about the same. Going less than 400km/full RON95 tank.
I was told that the car should "break in" after 1000km. I've just surpassed that mark, but still getting only about 10.5L/100km. I travel mostly between Puchong-KL on weekdays...maybe that's why it's higher also although I use the MEX highway everyday.
Hopefully it'll come down soon...

Re: Fuel Consumption
Wow...urs still ok..mine was like 320KM for a full tank. And I get over 20sen per KM in city ride of 75% and highway 25%..duno why. But I realize one thing when I travel to other states, It's can go near to 15sen.

Re: Fuel Consumption
Mine(sedan) full tank RM70 can go 385km. With around 120kg on ride(2 person). 90% city + 10% highway. With Petronas RON95.
