Car Tinting
Hey guys,
Anyway, it's already too late for me, however I've wonder if any of you put tinting for your FoFi? My sales guy from AutoConnexxion PJ along Fed Highway branch, offer me the 3M Safe Tint for a price of RM600.
Were any of you being offered this?
If yes, did you take up the offer? What was the price?
If no, did you tint it outside? If tint outside, which brand did you use?
p/s: I noticed JPJ is very stringent in checking tint especially those obviously dark ones.
Thanks,

Hmmm...not everyone have such luck though. Usually one needs to ask for it. Besides the point, I wouldn't have taken up any free tinting offer from my branch had they offered given the substandard service they usually dished out to customers. I wouldn't also risk having to tear down the tint later because of poor workmanship. So, instead I had mine done in Aerideas and so far I'm pretty satisfied.

Joey, you can try checking the previous post on car tinting. Regarding JPJ, as long as the VLT is within legal limits and not too dark, it should be OK. I would say that 3M tint is quite good, in fact better than V-kool. Also less likelihood to get fake tints as compared to the latter brand. However, I'm not sure about the price though.

Ok guys/gals, I just fetch my wife's new FoFi back today. And I questioned the sales man about the tint. Seems like different story compare to the things he said initially. Anyway, next time must hear the sales man words and repeat your understanding or write it down. Otherwise, miscomm will happen.
The tint he mentioned is actually NOT 3M as I asked and re-ask. It's neither a SAFETY TINT! Ok then I lambasted the guy at the showroom and tell him to be honest. As I was filling in the warranty card, it occur to me that the company whom installed the tint is an authorize 3M tint dealer. Material they use may not be 3M. They gave me some kind of 2mm tint, may likely be OEM which only reduce heat by 70% or less.
5 years warranty is provided by that particular tint shop. Therefore if I bring this tint direct to 3M likely they won't honor to fix it. I must bring it back to this shop located in Cheras. I've tested the tint just now, TnG/smart tag works since it's 2mm and it does reduce heat a little.
As far as the car is concern, pretty satisfied with the offer. Any extra go get it at accessorial shops.
Final words, do the tint outside with car accessories shop. They are more specialize at these. Brand or no brand, 'kungfu' skill is important. Otherwise there will be little air bubbles at the back passengers small windows.
Ok tonight going to take the new FoFi for a spin! Have a good weekend.
Cheers.

Re: Car Tinting
I didn't want the free tingt from SA. I asked for RM400 then I used it to cover my tinting cost. Got 30% off for LLumar plus additional RM400, I paid for about RM1100 for Crystal 6.

Re: Car Tinting
Dear Fiesta owner, I have a bad experience that the shop owner said workmanship is not perfect. It is normal to have bubbles and dust trap inside. Is it true?
